KEEPING ZONING DECISIONS LOCAL
The wildlife in our district is as gorgeous as it is environmentally friendly. Our local zoning boards are the ones whom we have to thank for that. Their continued dedication to keeping our towns green is why we're all so lucky to enjoy the nature that surrounds us. As a local zoning commissioner, I know how important this control is. When I get to Hartford, I'll be sure to make sure zoning stays local!
SAFETY AND POLICING
In a time when crime is on the rise, it is especially important to support the men and women who protect our communities by serving in the police. I think the best way to do so is by going to Hartford and advocating that they receive the best training and the newest equipment and that's exactly what I'll do when I get there.
PARENTAL VOICES IN OUR SCHOOLS
Our district has some of the best schools in the state. Part of the reason our schools are as good as they are is that concerned parents partake in their children's education. Because when teachers and parents work together, our kids win. When I get to Hartford, I will support the right of parents to speak up and partake in their children's education.
JOBS AND TAXES
Connecticut has the potential to be a powerhouse state. By focusing on our universities and hospitals, we can create good paying and stable jobs that will draw people to our state. Coupled with lower taxes and easing the burden of living, I'm confident more people will be moving to Connecticut than leaving. When I get to Hartford, these are the policies I am going to pursue to make that potential a reality.
